A Business Built on a Personal Experience
Every company has a beginning. For Lago Aire, that beginning came long before the business itself.
Darren and Meredith Todd did not start this company to become a large chain or a sales-driven operation. They started it because they believe people deserve honest answers, quality workmanship, and respectful treatment when they need help with air conditioning, heating, or refrigeration.
That belief still guides every part of the company today.
The Day Their Perspective Changed
Nearly 30 years ago, before Darren entered the HVAC industry, he and Meredith faced a problem many homeowners understand right away. Their air conditioner stopped working.
After calling a well-known company, they were told the compressor had failed. The options they were given were expensive, and at that time the family was already carrying significant medical expenses following Meredith's illness.
Before making a decision, a friend offered to take a look. The actual problem turned out to be a small, inexpensive part, and the system was running again within an hour.
The relief was immediate, but the lesson lasted. Darren saw just how much a customer depends on the honesty of the person diagnosing the system.
Learning the Trade With Integrity
A few years later, the person who repaired that air conditioner gave Darren the opportunity to learn the trade. What began as a chance to work alongside someone trustworthy became a career.
Over the years, Darren built about 27 years of experience in residential and commercial HVAC repair. He also gained seven years of industry management experience, which added to his understanding of service, operations, and customer care.
Along the way, one belief remained constant. Technical skill matters, but integrity matters just as much.
Why Darren and Meredith Started Lago Aire
When Darren and Meredith decided to build Lago Aire, they were not trying to create just another HVAC company. They wanted to create a company that reflects the way they believe people should be treated.
That means recommendations should be based on what the customer and the system actually need. It means taking time to diagnose the issue before suggesting a repair or replacement. It means speaking clearly, working carefully, and respecting the financial reality many families and business owners face.
Lago Aire is family-owned and operated, with Meredith managing the administrative side of the business and Darren handling the technical service work. Together, they built the company around the kind of experience they would want for their own family.
